Quarterly Goal Planner

Three Objectives, three Key Results each. The discipline of focus, on one page.

Objective 1

Most goals fail not from lack of effort but from lack of focus. This planner enforces a hard cap: at most three Objectives per quarter, with measurable Key Results under each. If everything is a priority, nothing is.

Why this matters

OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) survived four decades at Intel, Google, and beyond because the structure separates direction (Objective) from measurement (Key Results). Quarterly cadence is short enough to learn from, long enough to ship.

Worked example: A solo founder's Q3

Objective: Reach $5k MRR. KR1: 50 paid pilot conversations completed. KR2: 15 paying customers at $200+/mo. KR3: Churn <5% across the quarter.

Quarterly Goal Planner - FAQ

Why only three objectives?
Pick four and one will be neglected. Pick five and two will. Three is the empirical maximum for a single person or small team.
Are KRs the same as tasks?
No. KRs are measurable outcomes (a number, a date, a state). Tasks are the activities you do to move KRs. Track tasks elsewhere.
What if a KR turns out to be the wrong metric?
Change it once, mid-quarter, with the reason documented. Changing more than once defeats the point of commitment.
